Day 4 & 5: CLEANING and my 24th Birthday!

Day 4 consisted of more cleaning and an intense day of shopping for cleaning supplies, food and the other few random things I needed to start this journey. The place is starting to look SO good and I just want to keep it myself!  I wish I could just keep it and kick the boys out!  haha :)

Day 5: For my birthday, we decided to take an adventure to downtown Chicago.  It's only about 40 minutes away, but we didn't really want to figure out the city and deal with the traffic, so we decided to take a Metra from 147th St in Illinois, which was a fast route that took only 35 minutes.  This method of transportation is not only SO much fun to me, but SO convenient as well!  I wish I could do without my car and just take the Metra everywhere!

Once we made it, stress-free, into the city we journeyed from Millennium Station, past Millennium Park (and the big Bean!) to Jackson Blvd where the Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower) sits above the rest of the city.  I took my mom up in the SkyTower and in the glass box held many miles above the city.  It's quite a scary and yet thrilling sight!

The beautiful city from the top of the Sears Tower.  Breathtaking!

A view from the River Walk near the Planetarium.

What a beautiful and fun day, despite my bouts of sickness.  For lunch, we went to Giordanos and ate a fabulous small pepperoni pizza, which was still too big!    Which, is, by the way...THE VERY BEST Chicago style Pizza.  I don't care what anyone else says...It's THE best!  Yum...now I'm craving some!

After pizza, we headed to the River Walk where there is a beautiful view of the city and then we took a ferry to  Navy Pier, where there is shopping, a lighthouse and other various things to keep you busy.  We headed back to Millennium Park to watch the fireworks from afar (they were at Navy Pier) and then took the Metra back home.

It was a wonderful birthday already, but then I came home to a few surprises.  First, I have not been able to connect to the internet at my house yet, but to my surprise, the internet randomly connected to a McDonalds internet (which is several miles away!) and I was able to read my email... Second, the connection was long enough to find out that I was a candidate for the job I interviewed for a few weeks ago (the one I KNEW I bombed!  haha)  So, I emailed them back to tell them I was interested and then my email died!  The Lord has been so good to me.  I am grateful for this second interview and I know the Lord is Sovereign over it all.  He has been teaching me that a lot lately.
